Booking & Pricing

How is shipping pricing calculated?

Pricing is based on distance, vehicle size and weight, transport type (open vs. enclosed), and how flexible your pickup window is. You'll get a full breakdown with your quote — no hidden line items added afterward.

How far in advance should I book?

One to two weeks ahead gives the most carrier options and the best rate. Expedited pickup within 24–72 hours is available for an added fee, subject to carrier availability on your route.

Do I pay anything up front?

A small deposit secures your carrier assignment; the balance is due on delivery once you've confirmed the vehicle arrived in the condition documented at pickup.

Pickup & Delivery

Is door-to-door really door-to-door?

Wherever the carrier can legally and safely access with a car hauler, yes. On tight residential streets, your coordinator will suggest a close, easy-access meeting point instead.

Do I need to be there in person?

Either you or an authorized adult must be present at both pickup and delivery to sign the inspection report — this is what protects you if anything about the vehicle's condition is ever in question.

Can I leave items in the vehicle?

Carriers allow limited personal items in the trunk, generally under 100 lbs, but items are not covered by cargo insurance. Loose items outside the trunk are not permitted for safety reasons.

Insurance & Claims

What insurance is included?

Every shipment is covered under our carrier's cargo insurance policy at no extra cost. Coverage details vary by carrier; your coordinator can provide the certificate of insurance before pickup.

What if my vehicle is damaged in transit?

Compare the delivery inspection photos against the pickup photos on the spot, note any discrepancy on the bill of lading before signing, and our claims team will open a case the same day.

Warehousing

Can I store a vehicle short-term between carriers?

Yes — bridge storage between an inbound and outbound carrier is common and can typically be arranged with a day's notice at any of our three terminals.

Is there a minimum storage period?

No minimum. Rates are calculated daily, so overnight bridge storage and multi-month long-term parking are both billed fairly.

Escrow

Is escrow required to ship a vehicle?

No — escrow is an optional add-on specifically for private sales between a buyer and seller who haven't met in person. Standard transport doesn't require it.

Are escrow funds insured?

Yes, funds are held in a federally-insured trust account for the duration of the transaction and are never accessible to the seller until the buyer signs off on delivery.
